One month in! Here’s what we’ve been up to

One month in - and we're just getting started.
Clifford Design House marks its first full month in operation - and the studio is already redefining what it means to work with an expert bespoke joinery design studio.

More than technical drawings
We get it. When joiners, carpenters, and builders hear the words "CAD design studio," they often picture a screen and a spreadsheet of dimensions. Clifford Design House is something quite different. Yes, we produce precise, detailed technical CAD drawings - but we are, first and foremost, an expert design team with the depth, taste, and instinct to guide your project from concept through to completion.
Our specialisms span bespoke joinery, kitchens, cabinetry, and fitted furniture, and every project we take on benefits from a collaborative approach. We think carefully, we ask the right questions, and we take the time to understand what you're trying to achieve with your client - not just what you're trying to build.
"We didn't open a studio to sit behind computers. We opened a space for ideas to happen in person."

A physical interior design studio that works for you
One thing that sets us apart is simple but significant: you can come in. Our design studio here in Malmesbury is a warm, comfortable space where clients are welcome to visit, sit down with the team, and explore the decisions that will shape their project. We've curated a growing material and finish library - so rather than choosing a finish from a digital swatch, you can hold it, set it next to other samples, and feel the difference for yourself.
That in-person dimension matters; some of the best design decisions happen not at a desk, but in a moment of pause - when a client holds two materials side by side and just knows. We've built Clifford Design House to be the kind of place where those moments can happen naturally, where your clients can explore materials and truly envisage the design.

For joiners and carpenters who don't have a client-facing space of their own, our studio is yours to use. Bring your clients in for a design meeting, work through drawings together, and explore materials and finishes in a space that reflects the quality of your work.
We welcome clients to visit the studio by appointment. Whether you're at the beginning of a project or in the middle of a difficult decision, we'd love to have you in.

CNC supply for trade partners
Alongside our CAD design and drawing services, we're also able to take your project one step further - right through to manufactured components. Our newly-launched CNC supply service is designed specifically for joiners, carpenters, and builders who want to spend less time in the workshop and more time on the tools.
We supply precision-cut CNC components for bespoke joinery and kitchen projects, manufactured to exact specifications. Every part is accurate, consistent, and ready to install straight from the pack - reducing workshop time and minimising costly errors on site. Components include CNC cut cabinetry panels, bespoke joinery parts, kitchen cabinet carcasses, pre-machined panels, doors and drawer fronts, edge banded panels, shelving and internals, and complete project packages.
Our CNC supply workshop is based in Surrey in collaboration with Elite Carpentry Services. To become a trade partner, join us at the Malmesbury studio for an initial consultation. You can find out more here.
An expanded team
In October last year, we welcomed the wonderful Sam, taking our business from a couple-led operation to a small team. This spring, we're delighted to announce that our team has grown again with the arrival of Eleanor, who joins Clifford Design House this month. Eleanor brings with her a wealth of experience and a sharp design sensibility that fits perfectly with the way we work.
With Eleanor on board, we're even better placed to take on new commissions and give every project the attention it deserves. If you've been thinking about getting in touch, now is a wonderful time to do it.
A special thank you
None of this would have happened without the people who helped us build it. A very special thank you to Ashcrest Joinery and FineCut Interiors, who, between them, carried out the full studio build - the space is a gorgeous reflection of what bespoke joinery looks like, and we couldn't be prouder of what was created. To everyone who came through the doors on opening night last month, and to every client who has trusted us with their projects in these early weeks - thank you. You're the reason we built this place!

What comes next
We're only a month in, but momentum is already building! We're taking on new projects, expanding our material library, and continuing to develop the studio as a creative destination for joiners, carpenters, and builders - not just a place to sign off drawings, but a place to find inspiration.

Questions we get asked frequently
Do I need to visit the studio to work with you?
Not at all. Many of our trade clients work with us entirely remotely - you can send us a sketch, a brief, or even a photo from site and we'll take it from there. That said, if you're local or want to bring a client in to explore materials and talk through a project in person, our Malmesbury studio is open by appointment and we'd love to have you.
What kind of projects do you work on?
We work across bespoke kitchens, fitted furniture, cabinetry, wardrobes, media walls, and joinery of all kinds. If it gets built from wood and needs to be drawn before it gets made, we can help. We work exclusively with trade - joiners, carpenters, and builders - so everything we produce is designed to be genuinely useful in a workshop context.
What does a typical CAD drawing package include?
Our standard packages include 3D visuals, a specification sheet, full assembly technical details, and internal details. We can also provide cut lists, assembly drawings, and cutting diagrams for manufacture. And if you want to go further, our CNC supply service means we can supply the physical components too - ready to install straight from the pack.
How quickly can you turn drawings around?
It depends on the complexity of the project, but we pride ourselves on fast communication and quick revisions. We'll always give you a clear timeline upfront so you can plan your workshop and site schedule around it.
How do I get started?
The easiest first step is to complete our design form. We'll talk through your project, your workflow, and how we can best support you. You can book directly via our website, or just drop us a message and we'll go from there.
