From Sketch to Showcase: Crafting a Bespoke Display Unit for Ashcrest Joinery
Ashcrest Joinery approached Clifford Design House with a hand-drawn sketch of a bespoke display unit. The goal was to translate the initial concept into a polished, client-approved design pack - ready for seamless production. With our support, the project moved swiftly from idea to execution, ensuring both technical accuracy and design integrity.

Challenges & Solutions
This project involved several complexities typical of fitted joinery:
Turning a hand-drawn sketch into a full technical design
Ensuring the unit met both functional and aesthetic expectations
Delivering accurate documentation to support manufacturing
We worked closely with Rob from Ashcrest Joinery to understand the brief and refine key design elements. Using his measurements and notes, we produced a full drawing pack for client sign-off, including GA drawings, 3D visuals, and technical details. Once approved, we created precise cut lists, workshop drawings, and cutting diagrams to guide the build.
Our Approach
We translated Rob’s initial sketch into a detailed CAD package that supported every step of the joinery process.
This included:
General arrangement drawings
3D visuals for client approval
Cut lists and cutting diagrams
Technical workshop drawings
Ongoing support to tweak and refine elements before production
The Final Result
The result was a beautifully crafted, bespoke display unit that stayed true to Rob’s original vision. With a smooth approval process and all manufacturing details in place, Ashcrest Joinery delivered a high-quality piece with confidence, saving time and reducing the risk of on-site issues.
The final result below.
